Finally the post-rock community has a tribe to rally behind. Everyone is welcome to list their favorite post-rock bands and discuss tour dates, albums, and band members along with anything else that may pertain to this most monumental form of rock.
Keep on post-rocking amigos.

Re: The New Post-Rock Tribe
Fri, July 22, 2005 - 10:38 PMdoesn't seem like much activity but let's make it exciting!
it's probably too boring and tedious to debate the ambiguity of the phrase "post-rock" but maybe instead let's chatter about how this music makes us feel...
A lot of the bands that fall in this category make ME feel the sadness for the modern-world. Sometimes I think of the phrase post-apocalyptic... I think the Cul de Sac "Death of the Sun" album evokes this feeling well. After all the humans are gone, and the rock we live on is laid to waste, will there be anything to remember our glorious endeavors?
I almost feel like there's a dichotomy between happy post-rock and sad post-rock... and maybe in the other direction there's the more objective dichotomy of upbeat vs slow post-rock.
Flowchart anyone?
